Perfect 12 months for soybeans in southwest Michigan

A southwest Michigan farmer says he hasn’t needed to irrigate as a lot this season due to well timed rains.

Todd Inexperienced farms 1,200 acres of corn and soybeans in Hopkins.

“We’ve gotten some actually well timed rains and we’ve gotten some very nice quantities of rains so when it got here, it couldn’t have come any nicer,” he shares.

Inexperienced says not too long ago he’s began to develop only one commodity every season.  This 12 months is soybeans.

“What may be very attention-grabbing about this 12 months is there’s little or no illness, no fungicide issues, simply nothing,” he says.

Inexperienced expects to begin harvest in about two extra weeks. He was the host farmer for this 12 months’s MSUE Soybean Harvest Discipline Day.
